HOWTO: CBBCtalk Moderator

You will get an email something like the following when someone subscribes to CBBCtalk. The email used here is only for testing and creating these images. Click on the web link...

You will be directed to the following screen. Enter the moderator password and click [Let me in...].

Check the name is complete and verify with roster that the user is a member. Click the "Approve" radio button and then [Submit All Data]

Within about five minutes you will receive a confirmation Email like below.

Name is missing. Paste in something like shown in screenshot, click the "Reject" radio button, and [Submit All Data].

Name is not a member. Paste in something like, "Your name does not match any registered CBBC members. Please contact membership@cbbikeclub.org to help us resolve the subscription if you are a member.", click the "Reject" radio button, and [Submit All Data].

As moderator, you will get other notices. If someone unsubscribes you will get a message, as well as when someone posts a large message size, and is rejected. CBBCtalk is limited to 50kb of data, the equivalent of five typed pages. Most pictures should be rejected. CBBCboard is set for like 2MB so files can be sent back and forth. You can approve a big file, just a judgement call. It is just a big load on a server if someone sends a 5mb picture to 200 people. suddenly the server is trying to send a Gigabyte of data through a mail system. On CBBCboard, it is only 15 or so people...

There is a SPAM filter, but on occasion you will get a message of a post by a "non-member" and we just reject the message.
